Sunday Worship

Worship at Good Shepherd takes place at 9:30 am every Sunday morning. Lutherans believe that God comes to us through the reading of Scripture, preaching, and Holy Communion. The entire order of our service is found in a worship folder each week, except for many of the hymns, which are found in a hymnal.

We use a variety of songs in our worship service including traditional hymns, spirituals, gospel songs, and songs from the contemporary Christian rock music scene. We use both the piano and the organ. In the summer, most of our music is led from the piano. Our small choir helps to lead worship and we welcome the gifts of soloists and other musicians.

We observe the liturgical calendar and hold services on the holy days of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter.

All baptized Christians are welcome to Holy Communion, no matter your church background or the length of time since you have been in church. We have made special arrangements to accomodate those with allergies to gluten or those who can only take either bread or wine.
